Artwork: Bathing Erinys

The first drawing of 2026: another 'erinys' drawing, striking a pose as she slides into the water.

A drawing of a woman with horns, pointed ears and large feathered wings lowering herself into a rock pool. The woman is an Erinys, otherwise known as a Fury. She has olive skin, and has dyed her hair magenta with a green fringe. She's wearing a backless red dress with detached sleeves. Her wings are mostly a dark grey-blue with different tints for individual feathers, for a kind of stained glass effect. She's in the process of dipping her legs into a steamy pool of water, tinted purple by the night sky behind her.

An interesting (and slightly difficult) pose to try to draw from my reference photographs, but I wasn't quite happy with the colours, so I tried again, going for more natural colours... other than the streak of bright cyan in the hair and wings, that is.

Her wings are mostly a dark grey-blue with different tints for individual feathers, for a kind of stained glass effect—but she's dyed a streak of feathers in each wing cyan to match the streaks in her hair. She's in the process of dipping her legs into a steamy pool of water, reflecting the blue-and-rose dawn behind her.

A new year is a new opportunity to challenge myself, so let's see if I can break out of my comfort zone more in future drawings.
