Artwork: Tiefling Noble

Another devil/tiefling character. I know what I like.

This was an attempt to get out of my comfort zone a bit and draw from an elevated perspective, which forces me to re-consider body proportions with respect to the viewer. Not to say that I did this completely from the mind's eye—I sought out an interesting reference photo to work from. However even when doing that it's a good idea to consider the underyling 'skeleton' of the subject; you want the result to look natural, and you want to actually learn something from the process, so you're more capable of handling similar projects in the future.

A young woman with flame-red hair and backwards curving horns sprouting from her temples looks up at the viewer from below, as if the viewer is up on a balcony. She is standing on a tile floor, as if in a ballroom. She has vivid yellow irises, pointed ears decorated with ear-clasps and jewelled earrings and a reptilian tail poking out from under her dress. Her long, burgundy-coloured dress hangs off her shoulders. She is wearing black stilleto heels.
A tiefling noble, looking up to the balconies.

On a side-note, I had to create a new roller brush in Procreate for 'painting' the floor tiles. This is always a handy shortcut when dealing the recurring patterns, whether in architecture or clothing. Also doing it by hand is absolutely maddening.
